RaceRock - The Final

"Design Follows Function" or "as much as needed, as less as possible"

The MK1_v1 - the first of its kind - is the basic and less expensive alternative of the RaceRocks.
I focussed on its function and forgoe all unnecessary curlicues.
With its 28.5 KG, it´s still not a lightweight, but in case of the fact, that I used a real sport seat, he is worth its overweight.

The stablitly of the MK1_v1 should be even sufficient for the more "aggressive" racing freaks, nevertheless I forgoe too much screwings, as I only took care about the compression-tension fatigue strength.

The wheel arm is intentionally in the middle of the mainframe (weight- and material reduction),
but therefore one have to overclimb the seating to take a place.
Version 2 comes with a sideways wheel arm which will make it possible to get in easier.

I didn´t use covers for the profiles, that of course look more precious, as they were pretty expensive.
Even then each profile got a profile cap, to avoid a too much industrial look.

As I tried to get a perfect seating position, I measured my own cars distances between pedals/steering wheel/seat and assigned those measures to the RaceRock.
Therefore the racing seat should be perfectly suitable for persons between 45-90 KG and 1,60m and 1,90 m as they will find it pretty comfortable.

The MK1_v1 doesn´t come with a height adjustable steering wheel arm , but it still can be double adjusted in driving position. A height adjustment will come with the MK1_v2.

For the seat of FK, I decided to buy the low priced reclining alternative in blue.
The letherette seat has a kind of carbon/fiber look, feels significant enough and is comfortable.
For the more corpulent drivers the seat could become a bit uncomfortable as the shoulders are pretty steep, and the seat size in the back is only 30cm and in the front only 35 cm.

"feels good"
The ultimate driving experience in a racing seat has really nothing to do with a sofa and a gamepad. In a RaceRock I nearly feel like in my own car.
The rig is rigid and stable enough and makes it possible to have a hard crash, without overturning the rig. No...it will stay in place, where it belongs to and doesn´t move only one millimeter.
But for all that, you still can feel the FFB vibration that comes from the steering wheel, down to the feet, and that´s really awesome.
With the buttkicker it´s an amazing feeling - even if you are professional sim racer - to make crashes or collisions with other cars.
Every curb will become a wonderful experience and every slide and drift will become a capital fun.

After reams of tries, I was able to decrease my laptimes on the Nürburgring about 16 seconds.
OK...for sure that is possible in any other racing seat with a good seating position.
But it´s a big difference, if you are playing in a cheap racing seat, that moves forth and back and in that you´re not able to concentrate on the race.

In a RaceRock it becomes unnecessary to take account of the mechanical clearance, which makes it necessary, to turn in half a second before...
You´ll just drive! That´s it!
And after a short while, you won´t think about your seating position, like and how you seat.
You just think about, how to increase your skills and how to get faster laptimes.

If everything is OK and nothing is amiss, there´s nothing you can shift the blame to.

Now it´s up to YOU...to YOU and your skills!
